Some pickup designs yield a treasured tone and for those who desire that growling rockabilly tone, the "tron" or "H cover" design have often done wonders.

The H Bomb set by Planet Tone is no different. Named the H Bomb for its uniquely aesthetically pleasing "H" cover, this pickup set offers extremely clarity, dynamics with organic feel that yields a soothingly warm response that is crystal clear when played clean and super nasty when distorted - but never losing clarity!

The pickups are made with Alnico 5 magnets to offer a nice driving tone. Chimey when clean, creamy and often gritty when overdriven. The neck is wound to about 6.35k to offer superb clarity and to stay away from the "woofy" feel that often happens with lesser quality pickups. The bridge is nicely wound to approximately 7.35K to offer a lovely "cat" tone or even nasty twang.

The H Bomb is available in Chrome only.

H Bomb Set is the Real Deal!

This is my second set of of Planet Tones (I have the 59’s in a build I bought locally and I fell in love.) I wanted to do a build with Filtertrons - having never owned a guitar with them - and chose to order from Planet Tone based on impressed I was with the 59’s. These H bombs can DO ANYTHING! Chicken pickin’ - Yup. Soulful blues - Check. Shred pitch harmonics from the neck pickup - Yessir! This guitar is truly something special - Thanks Jose!

H Bomb Humbucker

I am still waiting to install these in my Gretsch Streamliner, but they are absolutely gorgeous! they have just the right look. Customer service is great! they hlped me select the correct middle position pickup for this HHH, and even upgraded my order! This is my third set of pickups from PT. I have the "'59s" in my Gibson Les Paul, which are absolutely badass, and the "Full Throttle" in my USA custom shop Schecter. You won't find a better pickup for the price, and compare with all the big dogs and boutique pickups out there. Do not be afraid!
