Just like the name suggest, its that high gain clean tone with lots of clarity and sustain - Poundcake!

Unlike the 1978 Pasadena, this has a much higher output for more gain push. However, we use 43 awg gauge wire just to give it the dynamics, clarity and power for today's applications.

In addition, we use an Alnico II magnet to give it the desired sustain and response without the extra mids Alnico V magnets can be known for.

If you are looking for a pickup that articulates, has drive but is very harmonically rich, this is for you.

Poundcake Humbucker Set

Installed these in a '95 PRS Standard 22 to replace Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. I wanted to return to the original PRS HFS sound. Everytime I replace stock pups I use Planet Tone. They always surpass what's being replaced. Always! Best pups I've found.

Nails the later EVH tone perfectly!!

Great pickups that nail the later era EVH tone or any big warm rock tones you could hope to achieve. Sounds great split as well. Overall great, warm & gooey ,Alnico 2 humbuckers for any application . Highly recommended
