High gain players have always loved that amazing tone only achieved from high gain settings. Pushing the tubes gives a unique flavor and depth to the tone but this requires a special pickup. Hot pickup muddy to quickly…the answer? Low Output!

Semi-Hollow Problem Solved!

I have an Ibanez 335-style that I've never been able to play with any kind of volume or gain. It's one of the best playing guitars I've ever owned, but it just squealed and howled. Tested the pickups and they read around 12k, and most likely cheap ceramic magnets. Way too hot and harsh for a semi-hollow! I saw that these were significantly less powerful, yet still tailored for high gain playing (that's me!) so I gave these a go. Problem Solved! Now it only howls when I want it to, and these pickups could not be more perfect for my style and sound! I thought I'd never be able to play this guitar in a live setting, but these pickups have truly turned this near dud into a true keeper!

Bought the 78 Pasadena for a bumblebee build and it was the perfect choice! The right gain and spank for the type of guitar I used! Highly recommend this bad boy for that Brown sound
