Bought some new MIM Fender vintage Strat parts to build a Strat with humbuckers, but did not like the sound, so I bought a set of Planet Tone scooped 62 to make it a normal Strat. Already had too much in a parts guitar, so decided to save a little on the pickups. Took it to a jam and played through an overdriven Blues Jr. Loved the clean chime even when driven hard. Next Mack Doss from the Classics IV got up and I dialed it back to play his hit song 'Spooky'. Great rhythm sounds for that song. Then Mack wanted to play a few he wrote and borrowed my guitar. He plays mostly rhythm and I could clearly hear every string. Last the jam host had about 15 minutes left and he broke a string, so I let him play my guitar. He had it cranked through a Vibro King and it sounded great real loud but still quite clean. Sounds as good as my 1988 USA 62 reissue Strat which is my favorite.
This set speaks volume the scooped mids really have so much sweetness & acoustic type bell tone . My Strats will never be the same thank U Planet Tone
Had these 62 mid scooped for a couple of months the project fell apart. So I finally got the guitar to put them in yesterday. Crystal clear clean and with overdrive incredible. funky bluesy jazzy all of thee above.I've got the Elite Pro set, 62 Mid Scooped set. These Planet Tone pickups great at a great price. One more set, 1 more strat haven't decided shouldn't be hard though
