Our most heralded set! Wound to provide a balance of highs and mid range to give a real big Strat® sound. While the sound may be big and fat, the tone is clear and warm allowing players to really push their amps.
The ’59 Overwound provide similar characteristics to the 1956-1957 set but with a seasoned touch of mid range giving it a hotter and bigger sound, much like our favorite from Austin!
The set, like our others, comes calibrated to offer a balance across your Strat®. The middle is reverse wound/reverse polarity to offer hum canceling in the notch positions 2 and 4 as well as that sweet “quack” tone.

Best Neck Pickup for an American Strat, that I've heard!
The tone of this pickup is amazing! With unstaggered poles the overall string sound is well balanced. I am now able to hear the lush bell tone I desired in my American Strat. Thankyou Planet Tone!
Nails that SRV tone
I replaced a $350 big named pup set with this PT overwound hot strat set trying to get closer to that SRV tone. I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. It's exactly what I was wanting. I've never heard a strat pup deliver SRV tone like this. Excellant quality. This is my 3rd set of pups from PlanetTone and each set has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend PlanetTone.
1959 Overwound Hot Pickup for Strat®
Put in neck position of one of my Fender Strats. Stock pickup was blah. This one really livens it up. Tone is bright with lots of depth. Overtones are nice. With my old Marshall it sounds very SRV. It says it's an overwound pickup, but mine retains a nice clarity like a lower impedance pickup. I'm keeping this one in my axe for awhile. Bought a 2nd one for another one of my guitars that needs some sonic character in the neck position. And yes, there's a boatload of other good pickup brands out there, but Planet Tone isn't gouging you for great tone. Have to admit, I like these guys.
