I purchased a 2020 Gibson LP Tribute cheap <$700. I had been wanting a Deluxe for years just never pulled the trigger. The specs on the Tribute were similar 2 piece body mahogany and maple, maple neck satin nitro finish, figured what the heck build a cheap Tribute. Changing the pickups was easy decision since seller had put Epiphone pickups in, god knows why it sounded like muddy garbage. I wanted to go Gibson, but they were not available, so I have had great luck with my PT pickups so I said what the heck and pulled the trigger on a set of A2 Mean Mistreaters. Man do these sound fantastic, way beyond my expectations. The bridge is phenomenal, this thing sings with a tight, warm, yet throaty tight mid and crystal clean high end. It is paired up with Bournes 500k V/T pots and Orange drop .022 cap. The neck is literally spot on for a Firebird pickup. I also used Bournes 500k V/T and tried an Orange Drop .022, but didn't vibe with it. I ended up changing that cap to an Orange Drop .010 and that did the trick. Very vintage sounding. The tonal possibilities are endless on this LP and it has quickly become my go to. If you are thinking about these don't hesitate. They take a long time to get so order early. Mine were closer to 60 days to make and deliver, but it was worth the wait. BTW this is my 6 set of PT pickups and they never disappoint.

Great customer service! I purchased a set of mean mistreater mini humbuckers. Turn around time was a little longer than expected, but not bad. The pickups transformed my custom tele into a ripping guitar! Love them…. Thank you so much

Installed ta balanced set of the Meanmistreaters in my Custom 57 Berg. I'm actually impressed with the overall tone and balance of these pickups! I don't believe you could go wrong with any Planet Tone pickups.
