This pickup is designed to provide more mid-range drive from blues, rock and classic styles of play while offering a well-balanced blend of highs and punchy lows with a mid range that drives.

Think: Gary Moore, Albert King etc.

The Alnico V magnets provide warm presence with a balance to sustain for great attack and articulation. The highs are clear and well defined. The low end is tight, punchy and powerful for a nice bottom end for chord structure and lead work. The mid range is brought out for drive, attack and a slight bit more power.

The perfect pickup for a touch more power than a traditional PAF-type pickup.

  • Alnico V magnets
  • All mounting hardware included
  • Neck Output Approx. 7.5k
  • Bridge Output Approx. 8.5k

I recommend this product

Quality not to par customerservice pretty bad.

I ordered a set of Blues Heritage PU's to install on my '90 Gibson Les Paul Standard. They came with short legs, that's fine. However the heart tot heart distance of the screwholes on the legs did not match the dimensions on the pickup ring. The legs were a bit wider, Resulting the pickup rings to bend more and more the higher you turn the pickup. I was able to solve this by bending the legs a little. Then when i wanted to mount the pickups in my Les Paul, they did not fit, they were both to wide measuring from the neck tot the bridge. The cavities on the Les Paul were 40,2 mm, the Planet Tone pickup's were both 40,7 mm. That's not much but it will not fit. Now i have been playing and adjusting guitars for more than 40 years and swapped many pickups but i have never seen this with other brand pu's like SD, Gibson, Dimarzio MojoTone etc. So i contacted the people at Planet Tone, explained was the issue was and made my point with some photo's. A guy called Jose answered my mail but instead of looking for a solution he stated that "My Gibson is probably not a Gibson but soms kind of import guitar" and that should route out the pickup cavities. To me that is not a solution, it is ignoring the fact that these pickup's are not made to the correct specs. After some more emailing I decided that these pickup's were not the ones for me and i suggested that i wanted to send these back for a) a refund or b) an other set made with the proper specs. This had been a week now and so far there has been no reaction from the people of Planet Tone. So this set of Blues Heritage PU's was not made to the correct specs and did not fit my Gibson LP. Are these bad PU's ? i don't know. I did not get to play them. Are all PU's bad from Panet Tone ? probably not. Maybe it was just bad luck for me but the way the people of Planet Tone reacted tot my quality issues as a customer was something i have never seen in any other company........
