MHS III Humbucker Review
VERY Satisfied! The pickup was received and in fairly quick order! I measured the neck at 6.90k and bridge at 7.45k on a Fluke 123 meter. The pickups were in perfect condition, no scratches of anything and looked fantastic. The quality was top-notch and chothed braided shielded wire used. The solder joint where short and nicely flowed on the pickup covers. The tone is fantastic! After setting the guitar up and pickup height and to get the volume balanced between neck and bridge, I thoroughly checked out the pickup with other local area guitarists. The notes are clear and well defined across the fretboard, the highs chime and the bottom is punchy. They sound very, very close if not exact to the original vintage units and Gibson Super 74 Alnico III pickups! I would highly recommend and look forward to purchasing more!! Thanks for making these available to the masses! :)
My new favorite neck pickup!
The most unique tone I ever heard...
Turns out I'm kind of a **** (I may or may not have gotten in to it with the owners) and I was wrong about the "issue" I thought I found in the pickups. However, after curiosity got the better of me, I tried a different guitar and no problems (only me looking like I'll be earning that ******* merit badge soon, so I got that to look forward to). These pickups are not like anything you've heard before and that's a great thing; they do this Peter Green thing when I roll off the tone on the bridge pickup that's just wow. They are clearer than your pickups; they force you to be a better player, which is kinda the point right?
