These pickups are amazing!!! So clear and they have a chime and clarity that is very sweet and creamy!! I have played and owned other high end brands of pickups and Planet tone pickups are not just on par, they are better!! The quality, look, sound and service, along with a lower price and quick turnaround for orders.. Unbeatable!! Period!! I received my 1959 Special Humbuckers and got them installed in my semi-hollow 339 build. At first, meh…. , but then I sat down and started messing with the pickup height. Once I found the sweet spot, I had a hard time putting my guitar down. these pickups sound really good. I have just been playing on a cheap Blackstar 5 watt solid state practice amp, but they even make it sound like a monster and all volumes. They sound great clean, with overdrive, and with higher gain, they retain a good amount of clarity. These are my first go with Alnico ii pickups. The bass is a little looser than alnico v, but again, once I played with the pickup height to get the highs/lows sorted out and the bridge and neck balanced, I really like them. It”s hard to describe sound, but they are very full, lush and punch hard. Very musical and inspiring. The have a nice vintage tone, but it’s very versitile. Planet Tone pickups will definitely go into my next build. I”ll be building a mahogany body/maple neck solid body guitar next. Now to decide which model. So many choices. Oooo they have P90s too! I had reservations going with an unknown to me brand, but I” m very pleased. Planet tone winds damn good pickups. They may well be the best pickups that I”ve used. I think that I’ll sick with Planet tone for all of my new builds moving forward.

I just received my 59 special pickups.Have not had a chance to install yet, but they look like very good quality.Cant wait to hear them.
